NOVEMBER 2005

Vino et Veritas is a night of fellowship, hors d’oeuvres and discussion debunking the fiction book The Da Vinci Code, Nov 11 from 7-8:30pm, please see insert in today’s bulletin and RSVP at the church office 407-843-2886.

If you would like to honor or remember a loved one with Christmas flowers or greens, please complete the insert in today’s bulletin and send in to the church office.

Lindsay Keller’s Girl Scout troop is collecting old cell phones and eyeglasses to benefit people who can’t afford them. If you have any that you can donate, please place them in the marked box in the narthex. Thank you for you help.

Our Christmas Party is Sunday, December 4. Please see the insert for more information regarding decorating 1 of the 14 tables. Any questions? Please see Jeanie Wilkinson.

The Messiah Choral Society will sponsor a free concert of Handel’s Messiah at Bob Carr Performing Arts Centre on Sunday, November 27 at 3pm. No tickets are required, doors open at 2:15pm.

 

OCTOBER 2005

St Monica’s Guild is conducting a Holybear fundraiser during October.
We will receive 55% of the total sales, and all proceeds will go directly
to the Cathedral. Order will be delivered by early December.

Special thanks to all who helped make Fr. Mark Siegel’s Ordination to the Priesthood such a special celebration!

A Scrapbook class is scheduled on Sunday, October 23 in the hall from 12-5pm, please see Vicki Siegel for more information and mark your calendars.

St. Monica’s Rummage Sale is next Saturday, October 15, Drop off in the hall will begin on Monday, October 10 and runs thru Friday at 7pm for set up and a pizza party.

Our Youth Group is planning a trip to Busch Garden’s on Saturday, October 29, followed by a sleep-over on Saturday night in the Royal Hall.

Sunday, October 30 is “Take Your Friend to Church Day”, this pertains to the congregation children & adults. Following the Mass everyone is invited to Maitland Community Park for a picnic.

Please remember that October is Clergy Appreciation Month. Show the clergy how thankful you are for them in your own special way.

The St. Joseph Anglican Men’s Club meeting & dinner is on Tuesday, September 27 at 6:15pm. in the Royal Hall. All men of the Cathedral are members and encouraged to attend!

The Chapter will meet in the Bishop’s office on Tuesday, September 27 at 6:15pm.

St. Monica’s Rummage Sale is Saturday, October 15, so please save all your sellable items. Volunteers will be needed so please see Pamela Gardner. The POD is on property for drop off, please call the office 407-843-2886.

Please join John Larsen in the Royal Hall on Thursday, September 29 at 6:30pm for “Sacred Bridge” a class & group discussion.

Deacon Mark Siege
l will be ordained into the Priesthood on Saturday,
October 8 at 10am. A reception will follow in the Royal Hall. Please mark your Calendars.

We will celebrate Morning Mass on Wednesday’s at 7:30am during the month of September. Please join us!

Sunday, September 25 is our Sunday to service Daily Bread at the Christian Service Center from 10:30 to 12noon. Volunteers are needed: youth, adults or families. (We need around 8-10.) Each time we help, they ask us for a $50.00 donation to help defray the cost of paper goods used for serving the meal. If anyone feels moved to provide this, it would be greatly appreciated. It is always a blessing to serve those in need right in our own community. Any questions, see Susan Keller or call

Please join John Larsen this Thursday, September 1 from 6:30-8:30pm for “The Sacred Bridge.” A class and discussion group will meet for 1 more week and then the class will rerun again for 4 consecutive weeks beginning Thursday, 9/15- 10/6.

St. Monica’s Guild will be having their Rummage Sale on October 8 so please save your sellable items. They will be renting a portable storage unit so drop off dates will follow soon. Volunteers will be needed for set up & clean up so please speak to Pamela Gardner.

We will be taking pictures in the Royal Hall for our new Cathedral Directory on these dates: August 30, 31, & Sept. 1, from 2:00pm-8:30pm; We will be posting sign-up sheets soon. Please plan on attending one of the dates to ensure the success of our directory!

There are several dates available for altar flowers and sanctuary candle.
Please list your intention on the charts in the hallway. If you have signed up, please send your check into the Church office attention Ellyn. Flowers are $35.00 and candle 10.00.
